About the product

Ziółko Liquorice is powdered liquorice root (Glycyrrhiza) – a plant with feathery leaves and purple-blue flowers, grown in Asia, southern Europe and also in Poland. It is the root that contains its naturally sweet, distinctive flavour.

Liquorice is best known for hard sweets and jelly sweets and its distinctive, sweet aniseed flavour – in the Netherlands and Scandinavia, liquorice sweets are a true classic. The root works well as an ingredient in sweet herbal infusions and homemade tea blends, to which it adds natural sweetness without the need for added sugar.

Directions for use

Pour a glass of boiling water over one teaspoon of root, cover and leave to steep for 10–15 minutes, then strain.

Warning

Contains liquorice. It should not be consumed in excessive quantities by people suffering from high blood pressure – too much liquorice can raise blood pressure.

Store in a dry, cool place in a tightly sealed container – protect from light, moisture and foreign odours.
